Age has a way of happening. You get a bit older every year, but the ‘getting older’ process is so gradual that it sort of sneaks up on you. I felt like the face, body and mind, and the general attitude packed-up and forgot to tell me about it.
Sayings are a bunch of words that resonate; a collection of words that is obvious, but not obvious enough until you read them and then have a ‘aha’ moment.
When we meet up we chat and laugh as if time has stood still. There is an easy comfort. No airs, no pretensions. Babbling away about anything and everything. And yet, we didn’t keep in touch for over a decade.
Power is not absolute and it is transitory, and yet what is it about power that makes some people overbearing and cavalier in their attitude? How do people who have been in power for long periods of time, whether running a country, a company or managing a family, feel when they don’t have the same authority anymore.
