Power is not absolute and it is transitory, and yet what is it about power that makes some people overbearing and cavalier in their attitude? The job description for a carer does not call for a martyr. What it does require is for carers to be sensible, care for themselves first and enlist help wherever possible, if they are to be any good to the cared for.
